Business Development/Market Research Manager

For our subsidiary in Singapore we are looking for an experienced Business Development / Market Research Manager, full-time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and brainstorming with Managing Director resp. Directors at the HQ to identify new project strategies, growth potential of existing projects and new M&A opportunities in Singapore as well the ASEAN region
  • Researching market and industry trends and generate new business ideas through independent scouting from internal and external sources
  • Screening of potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials & evaluating options in order to recommend to the Board of Management
  • Creating market reports and feasibility studies
  • Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective clients and partners (organizers, industry associations, government bodies)
  • Drafting the new show presentation. Creating and delivering presentations & sales pitches
  • Attending networking events
  • Building trust and long-term relationships with clients/customers
  • Supporting and cooperating with responsible project team at the HQ for the initial phase of new business on first-step-implementation. Translate business strategy into action plans
  • Collecting and maintaining new business intelligence database
  • Other tasks assigned (on demand)

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, marketing or related field preferred
  • Three to five years of previous experience in business development, mergers & acquisitions, sales, management, marketing, customer service, finance, administration, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the MICE industry preferred
  • Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; German and/or other spoken language of the ASEAN region is welcome
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensure high quality deliverables with high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, well-organized and able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Experienced at preparing and presenting quarterly goals and forecasts for future projects
  • Experienced in deliberating and negotiating with customers on overall project deliverables
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Fluent communication in person, on the phone, and in email
  • Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry at present and illustrate a knowledge of the operational attention to detail that will be required to succeed within the industry.
  • Ability to travel in Southeast-Asia
